FOR THE LOVE OF GOLF AND PHYSIOTHERAPY

While passing by the nearest golf course this season in Markham or surrounding areas, it is with no surprise to see numerous golf carts zipping by, several golfers taking a swing and having a great time socializing and spending the day out on the course with friends and/or family.  While golf is known to be a relaxing/distressing sport, there is more to know when it comes to your health and well being.Physiotherapy Markham Stouffville

GOLF: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

If not properly played, golf can put a lot of strain on the human body.  Golf requires physical exertion and like all sports, golf requires coordinated muscle use of the hands, wrists, arms, abdomen and legs. Did you know a simple golf swing uses at least 17 different muscle groups when done properly?  Golf also requires golfers to walk long distances, if not using a golf cart, and hit long drives with consistent depth and aim. All of these requirements can be accomplished if the golfer is FOCUSED.  With focus come balance, flexibility, posture, core stability, strength, power and cardiovascular training, all of which will help make your golfing experience successful and injury free.
